Relive yesterday’s comet-landing through xkcd’s animated cartoon

xkcd is a famous online cartoon that defines itself has “A webcomic of romance, sarcasm, math, and language” and often brilliantly illustrates the science news.

Yesterday it covered the landing of Philae on 67P with a live coverage of the event in its unique cartoon style. It provides a great record of yesterday’s tension, stress, passion, and enthusiasm all over the world and anything in between, including questions about harpoons and yes, jokes about whales. Funny and poignant at the same time, xkcd did a great job (once again) drawing yesterday’s many emotions on paper.

Luckily for us, somebody clever has gone and animated all 142 of the cartoons and this is the fantastic end result. Enjoy!
